![]() Upon seeking this place out, the photos didn't show how close the train or freeway was. The campsites are chosen for you, so we didn't get a choice of where we wanted to camp. We saw some photos and thought the area was pretty, which it was. We booked this place over the phone for a 3 day stay in our travel trailer. Made a huge mistake camping at this location. If you choose to eat at this establishment.… ![]() So please be warned, if you have a food allergy, be very aware of what is prepared for you. What a shame that this is what is happening with the new owners and management. The previous owners, Ray and Shawn, had a great business with great staff. The rest of our party finished our meals and left the restaurant without any other contact or service from the restaurant staff. We stated we had been regular customer for years and the manager said he did not care and asked us to finish and not return. The situation escalated and the manager asked us to leave and not return. The manager just kept repeating that it was a mistake and not intentional. There was no offer to refire the order or apologize for the intentional inclusion of cheese. I again pointed out my severe allergy and advised this was mentioned with our original order multiple times and the server assured it would be done correctly. The manager stated the kitchen did not purposely do this and it was just a mistake. I was very displeased and told the server, who eventually requested we discuss with the manager. It was clear that the error was noticed when my wife’s order was addressed and the chicken macaroni and cheese with orange cheese garnish was flipped over to cover the error, so to not have to refire the entire table order. I started to eat, I saw there was orange cheese mixed in under the chicken and covered with additional white cheese sauce. ![]() My macaroni and cheese had several pieces of orange shredded cheese on the edges, but I stated I would pick those out. At least five minutes later our entrees were delivered, and it was clear the food had been sitting for some time as the gravy was congealed and barely warm. My wife indicated it was okay to be served as prepared. Prior to our entrees being delivered, the server asked my wife if gravy on her steak was okay since the kitchen already prepared the order and was not on the side, as requested with the initial order. When the server delivered bread to or table, the orange cheese issue was again mentioned and the server indicated the kitchen was aware. The server indicated she would verbally mention this to the kitchen as well as the written instructions. My wife and another person in our party reiterated the importance of no orange cheese as it could result in an anaphylactic response. I ordered macaroni and cheese with chicken and also advised that the orange cheese garnish be left off as I am highly allergic to the dye in orange cheese. We were a party of 4 with friends who have also been very regular diners. My wife a I have been regular customers for almost 14 years. (beware future staff) Even trying to pay for the lousy meal was a wait. They hung their server out to dry and made her take the brunt of it. The server was sweet and appologetic and sought to comp the soup but no other attempt by management was made to remedy or make amends for such horrible experience. There was no lemon and the butter, served in a soup cup, was cold and starting to re-solidify. Seafood forks or scissors were not provided which made it even more difficult to get to the meat. The crab shell crackers, which we had to ask for, were obviously worthless. The crab legs were dry, tough and freezer burned. Yes there was the shredded cheese, black olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, croutons and a few other "basic" salad bar items but absolutly nothing noteworthy. The $10.00 salad bar was merely iceberg lettuce with a few additional greens. Seafood bisque soup was nothing short of a cross between salsa and tomatoe sauce with a sprinkling of shredded canned clams? It was a mystery. Drinking water was not served till we had to ask for it and we had to wait for the accompanying bread to be baked. I am not one to write negative reviews but.The abundance of obnoxious flies should have been our first clue to get back in the car and continue down the road, but looking out over the river while enjoying a meal after a long days drive with more ahead was appealing.
